About 'the Author's Fyre'

When The Author's Fyre first appeared to me in a Heavenly vision, blogging wasn't really a 'thing' like it is now. Not long after waking on Monday 27th January 2003, I received a vision - in a flash, I 'saw' what appeared to be a book - and it was entitled The Author's Fyre

The cover was brilliantly illustrated with fire. I knew that the title referred to God as the "Author", and that the book was about being IN the 'Fire of God' - usually called testing or wilderness. I lay there astonished at the vision, wondering about the book I saw - intrigued by the spelling of Fyre.

Seven years earlier, The Lord had prompted me to begin writing 'a book' (He said 'a book'...) and although He didn't elaborate other than to require that I start, start I did, as words flowed upon the screen page, and the name Upon the Stone are Seven Eyes evolved after my devotions one day.  During those 7 years I added to this developing autobiography - recording the emotional fire that was taking place. It's a painful recollection...

In 2002, we moved away from the city that recorded my birth, marriage, and raising of our family. We were still damping down the fire that had burned a catastrophic hole of heartache... the suicide of our eldest son three years earlier in 1999. Leaving home and relatives didn't hurt as much as the raw pain of grief, so the chance to 'start again' opened up the expectation of healing and recovery. I never let go of God!  It wasn't God's fault - and I sought His help, wisdom, guidance, you-name-it. He delivered me from the Valley of the Shadow of Death. He led me beside still waters, and restored my soul!  During these years, I pulled from my experiences of God's amazing grace, and He gave me His 'Author' words for other hurting people, who were going through their own fires.

Until just recently I had all-but-forgotten about that vision of the Author's Fyre so long ago.  In a Godly sequence of 3 events, confirmed by a soul very dear to me, I knew that now is the time for the Author's Fyre. Plagued by doubt about the way I write, the inadequacy of my 'writer's voice' etc etc, - things that made me hesitate before blogging...('plague' being the word of the season - but the 'voice' that God gives me is the only voice I have, and it is the one He has gifted for His purposes). The suddeness of the world's pandemic plague this year brought changes we might never see reversed.  It is almost painfully obvious that the world doesn't have long to live - in other words: wars, rumours of wars, famines, plagues and earthquakes all point to the groaning of Earth as she awaits her redemption and re-creation: a new earth and a new heaven, a glorious City of God!

In the meantime, these trials and tribulations beset us. Fiery trials...

(When to be perfectly honest, we would rather a life of ease, luxury and blessings, blessings, blessings. Now, I don't want to recognise who I was pre-fiery trial. I am a work-in-progress that God is busy with - burning out rubbish, dross, pride... things that don't glorify Him.)

Have I arrived at perfection? Not until I jump into the arms of Messiah Yeshua, The Lord Jesus, then I will be purified in His presence!)

In the meantime, I am one who loves to write, sharing beautiful things that The Lord has opened up - that burn with excitement in my heart!

When Daniel and his three friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon* to serve King Nebuchadnezzar, they disobeyed the King's command to fall down and worship his 90' high golden god statue.

Nebuchadnezzar was so enraged that he sentenced Daniel's three friends to be tied up and thrown bound, into a blazing hot furnace. The fire was so overheated that the men carrying them were burned to death instead.**

King Nebuchadnezzar and all his royal retinue were watching the executions. Suddenly the king sprang to his feet, alarmed. He saw FOUR men walking around in the flames, not three, and none of them was tied up. Nebuchadnezzar called them to come out.**

The fire had NO POWER on their bodies, not even their hair was singed, their clothing hadn't burned on their skin, and they didn't smell of fire.***

It is my prayer that the blogs I write here will move your spirit and soul through the Fyres of God... without any smell of fire! Blessed be God!
